I just had a bit of a rough day. Someone hit my GV70 while trying to park in the spot next to mine and clipped the rear driver's side quarter panel. From what I can see, it might be more than just a paint job. I'm about to call the Genesis service dept for an estimate, but I'm also curious to hear some opinions from y’all. Has anyone dealt with something similar, or have any advice on how to handle this situation?

It’s so frustrating to park way out to avoid dings, only to find someone parked right next to you. So irritating! Make sure you’re on top of your insurance company's deadlines for reporting stuff and act fast. You might want to get a quote from a body shop rather than your dealer, though it’s worth checking with both.

Good you're contacting Genesis service for an estimate, definitely get that documented officially. Since it sounds like it might be more than just cosmetic, get a thorough inspection to check for any underlying damage to the frame or suspension. When you talk to the service department, ask about using OEM parts for the repair to maintain the car's value and ensure a proper fit. Also, if the other driver's insurance is involved, make sure to exchange information and file a police report. Hopefully, the repair process goes smoothly, and you can get your GV70 back to its pre-accident condition soon.
