So I took my dad’s 2023 GV70 2.5t Prestige AWD for a spin over the weekend, and I noticed this funky metal vibration from the engine compartment when cruising at low speeds. It’s kinda bugging me. Could it be the heat shield acting up? Anyone else had this kinda noise before?

My hood used to shake like crazy at high speeds, but since you're feeling those vibes at lower speeds, it might be something else going on with your ride. Might be worth checking out other potential culprits besides just the hood.

So, there are three possibilities:
- the heat shield
- loose engine mounts
- or a misaligned exhaust.

Just go to a mechanic. Simple!

A loose heat shield is a common cause but it could also be an exhaust hanger or any number of loose parts. Try to find the source by wiggling things under the hood while the engine's running. Check the wheel wells and under the car too. You may also take it to the dealership to have it checked.
