I haven't slept well in the past 5 months because of this check engine light. I've taken my car to the dealership several times, and they've given me various explanations, including a software update, the need for routine maintenance, and eventually, an ignition problem. Despite their attempts to address the issue, the check engine light keeps reappearing. I'm at a loss and don't know what to do next. It's frustrating that the dealership seems unable to diagnose and solve this issue!!

Any chance you could check with another dealership? I’ve heard some of them are really awful at figuring out what's wrong. You know how it goes - better safe than sorry!

Usually, software update fixes everything, haha! Joking aside, I don't know what is wrong with these engine lights. I had to get through something similar, and it felt like a never-ending loop, haha. I went back to the dealership so many times I thought they were giving me my own parking spot, haha!
Have you tried reaching out to the manufacturer directly? Sometimes, they can get involved and push the dealership to dig a bit deeper. Hopefully, they can finally fix it and give you some peace of mind (and sleep).

Real headache, @Gav2003!

Five months is a long time to deal with something like this.

How did you manage to do the jobs that involved driving and stuff?

I agree with @chery572bb! Consider a second opinion from a different dealership.

Also, have you documented every visit and explanation they have given you?

If it keeps happening, I think customer service or even Lemon Laws would be the last solution.

And please rest! After all, it is just a car.

I think it would be great for you to take some rest and then figure out what you can do, even if it is frustrating. I wish you the best and I hope you will find a way to resolve this situation.
