Does the GV70 Electrified need oil changes?

Yep, the vehicle comes with gear oil, but you don’t need to replace it until you hit 80,000 miles. That said, it’s a good idea to have it checked around 48,000 miles just for some maintenance peace of mind.

You could always just go ahead and dump a few quarts of Mobil 1 on those electric motors, ya know, just to play it safe and make sure everything’s running smooth. Better to overdo it than risk anything, right?

if it’s the fully electric version of the GV70, don't worry, you won’t need oil changes. EVs don’t have internal combustion engines, so there’s no engine oil to worry about. Maintenance is generally cheaper too. You’ll mostly deal with tire rotations, brake fluid replacement, and cabin air filters. If you want to save even more, you can do some of those basics yourself.

Haha, I appreciate the humor! But I think I'll stick to the recommended maintenance schedule and skip the extra oil just in case.

That’s a relief man, it’s great to know maintenance is simpler and cheaper for EVs. I'll stick to the basics and save where I can.
