I recently had a rattle issue diagnosed after my car had transfer case and fuel pump repairs. They charged me $7020 for 2 hours of labor and minor adjustments to clips and trim. They explained that rattles are only covered for 12 months or 14,000 miles and I’d be responsible for the diagnostic fee if it wasn't warranty-related. Is this normal? The high charges for such a simple fix and poor service experience are leaving me frustrated and questioning my choice of vehicle.

Hey, have you checked for loose bolts or clips on the affected door? Sometimes, these simple issues can cause strange noises. It might just be a case of normal wear and tear, so it's worth a quick inspection before assuming the worst.

Oh man! $7020 is too expensive for minor fixes or adjustments. Are you trying to modify your vehicle?

I’ll check the bolts and clips, though the repairs were done at a service center, not by me.
