I bought a 2022 GV70 experienced a dead battery after not driving the car for about a two weeks. Despite attempts to jump-start the vehicle using the manual key and jumper cables, the car remained unresponsive, leading to a flatbed tow to the dealership. The dealership and Flash Auto towing informed me that the GV70 requires regular use—running for at least 30 minutes every few days—to prevent battery drain due to its high-tech electrical systems that remain active even when the car is off.
The dealership confirmed that the battery was not defective but attributed the issue to a lack of driving. I expressed concern about what to do when traveling, as the response from Flash Auto towing suggested calling for help if the car needed a jump start after being parked for an extended period. I also inquired about using a tender box for battery maintenance but was advised against it by the dealership.
I need advice on how to avoid a dead battery if I can’t to drive the GV70 regularly and I’m curious if there’s a way to activate a deep-sleep mode to conserve battery life.
