GV70 Window trim discoloration

Anyone else dealing with discoloration on their GV70's window trim? I've got a 2022 model and noticed it a few months back. It's like a weird patina that you can almost scrape off with your nails. Took it to the dealer, and they spent all day trying to clean it with some chemicals. It got better, but there's still some discoloration left. Plus, the service tech made a total mess!

I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the trim itself. Shouldn't be discoloring or forming a patina like this after only a year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I haven’t had any issues myself, and I’m wondering if it’s because of the ceramic coating. Anyone else with the coating running into problems?

Oh, this is a well-known issue! I spotted the same mess on my 3.5 Sport Prestige and called it out during my last service. The dealership didn’t even hesitate, they ordered a replacement on the spot and even dropped a, “Surprised there’s no recall yet!” Turns out, they’ve handled plenty of these swaps. My worry, though, is that the replacement will just end up with the same cringy discoloration eventually. And let’s not ignore the cost, it’s pretty steep, so definitely take care of it while it’s still covered under warranty.

I’m dealing with a similar issue, but it’s only happening on the driver’s side. For context, I did apply a ceramic coating, so that might be a factor. I’ve got a service appointment lined up for next month, so I’ll see what they have to say about it then.
