Hey all,

I'm a proud owner of a 2017 G70 with 37,000 miles. Loving the car, except the connected services, which I was promised would work and still chasing the dealer on that one.

Anyways, I’m curious about third-party warranties. Who’s got recommendations, and any horror stories or good experiences with claims?

Thanks in advance! Appreciate any input!

Third-party warranties can be a lifesaver or a money pit, depending on who you go with.

I almost got one for my G70, but after looking at the deductibles, exclusions, and hoops to jump through, I just started putting that money into a repair fund instead.

That said, if you drive a lot or plan on keeping it long-term, it might be worth it, just do your research on the company first.

Allstate's been awesome for me, totally worth it. Never had a claim denied. My 2018 G80's at the mechanic for a potential oil pressure sensor replacement. Allstate's asking for a photo of the sensor, and I'm on the hook for the diagnostic to get to it. If it's the sensor, they'll pay for everything, including the diagnostic.

I’ve used a third-party warranty before, and while it saved me a few times, I learned to be super diligent about the details. The biggest takeaway is making sure you understand exactly what’s covered—and what isn’t. Sometimes, they can be great for minor repairs, but for bigger issues, you might end up paying more out of pocket than you expected. Always read the fine print and ask a lot of questions before committing!
