Hello guys. I’m eyeballing a GV70 but I’m a little on edge about getting it from a dealer that also sells Hyundai. I’ve heard Genesis is aiming for those fancy standalone dealerships now, and I’m kinda freaking out about what could happen if my dealer decides to ditch the Genesis line. Plus, what’s the deal with the service and extras at these combo dealerships - are they any good? Anyone been down this road or have any thoughts on buying a GV70 from a place like this? Appreciate any deets you can share!

Doesn't matter where you buy your Genesis, just make sure there's a nearby dealership to fix it. Call their service department and pretend you already have one, and ask if they'll pick it up and give you a loaner car to see how good they are. You can do this at a few different dealerships near you.

I guess what matters the most is the service quality, not that is a standalone or shared facility.

@lazy_boy or he could ask them if they are planning a standalone facility.

Honestly, I get where you’re. coming from. It’s a bit unnerving thinking about the future if they switch focus. but yeah, service is the key! You could also check if they’ve been maintaining strong training for their techs and getting consistent reviews.. Maybe they’ll keep up with Genesis support even if they phase out other brands.

Have you had a chance to visit the combo dealership and see how well they handle Genesis-specific models and services? It might give you a better idea of how they manage the brand, especially if Genesis plans to go standalone soon.
