GV70 backseat stuck in down position

We have a GV70 2.5t and noticed the backseat was in the down position. No biggie, right? I tried to put it back up, but it's like stuck! I pulled the release handle in the trunk a bunch of times, but it's not budging. Does anyone know if there's a hidden release lever or something I'm missing? Or maybe it's just frozen solid?

When the seatback is down, it locks in place. All you gotta do is yank that lever on the side of the seat, then adjust the seatback however you want - whether you’re going full upright or leaning back and getting cozy.

That's common, don't worry! If you have already pulled the trunk handle multiple times, try pulling the side lever while gently pushing or pulling the seatback to see if it gives. Let me know it this works.
