We finished our 18" new setup for my GV60P and wanted to share our experience. Got the TPMS from Amazon and had it mounted. The ride is way smoother and quieter than the stock 21s. Also, the car seems to be a bit more efficient now.

However, we noticed a decrease in braking performance. Anyone else downsized to 18s?

It should be the other way around if you have bigger sidewalls. Try having your tires aligned first and have it balanced.

The drop in braking performance happens because the wheel diameter is smaller, and also because of the different tire grip. Though, what tires did you go with?

That smoother, quieter ride and efficiency boost is exactly what I'd expect from downsizing from those massive 21s. It's a classic move for comfort and range. But that braking performance drop is definitely something to keep an eye on. Smaller wheels usually mean smaller brake rotors, and that can impact stopping power. Plus, the tire compound and width play a huge role. Anyone else who's made the switch to 18s experiencing this? It might be worth checking your brake fluid and making sure the pads are bedding in properly with the new setup. And maybe consider upgrading to some high-performance brake pads if you're concerned about stopping distances.

I swapped to 18" tires as well, and I actually noticed an improvement in braking performance aside from the smooth ride. It could be the tire choice or profile making a diference. Have you checked the tire brand or type you’re using? It might be worth expermenting with a different set to see if it helps.
