Just wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue with their GV60. Mine’s been kinda slow on my Level 2 ChargePoint charger lately. It kicks off fast, but then it slows down after about 20-30 minutes. I’ve already messed with the ChargePoint settings and rebooted a few times, but no luck. Any clues or similar experiences out there?

There is a common issue where the charging rate slows down due to overheating. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles like the GV60, EV6, and Ioniq 5 have had reports of their charge ports overheating during high amperage charging, especially on 48A 11kW setups.

This could explain why it started strong but slowed down after 20-30 minutes. As I know, there is actually a class action lawsuit about this issue, and many owners have been given software updates that lower the charge rate to prevent overheating. You might want to check if there is a fix or update available for your car.

Hi, @CharlesDiesel!
When the charger port overheats, the vehicle often reduces the charging rate to protect the battery, you know? This explains why it starts off strong but slows down after a while, as @IthinkaboutU2 said. Some owners had the same issue and they fixed it after a specific update. So, if there is no update for your car, then you might need to reach out to your dealership because this is a real problem... unfortunately...

Maybe the problem is with the car? Try doing a hard restart on your Genesis.
