GV60 vs Ioniq 6 lease Incentives

I'm totally digging the GV60, but the price tag is a bit steep compared to the Ioniq 6, especially with that incentive Hyundai is throwing around.

The problem is, that incentive is only for leases! I've never leased a car in my life. I want to buy and keep it for a decade or more.

But I'm thinking maybe I can game the system to get that discount. Has anyone leased a car just to get a discount on a purchase?

How does that work? Can I put a huge down payment, lease for a short term, then buy it out?

I'm no expert, but state laws vary. By leasing a car and then immediately purchasing it, you can often return a significant portion of the lease credit. This helps to avoid paying interest on the lease's remaining term.
