Quick question for ya - how do I preheat the battery without using the app? I’m in a dead zone with zero reception, so remote control is out. Is there a trick to do it directly from the car? And does it rely on the charger to get things warm? Appreciate any tips!

You can totally set up the car to warm up before you head out, but it’s gotta be plugged in for that. If you’re close by, just use the fob to get it going.

You can also try setting the climate control to precondition the battery while you are inside the car.
  • Some vehicles allow you to use the screen inside the car to access the Battery Preconditioning or Energy Settings options. These will warm up the battery without needing to rely on the app.
  • The key is being plugged in, as the car uses the power from the charger to heat the battery efficiently.
  • Some cars have an automatic preconditioning system that goes on when the outside temperature goes below a specific metric.
