As you press harder, it transitions to friction braking. The paddles remind me of A/Ts. Even in automatic regeneration mode, the system adjusts the regeneration rate in response to traffic conditions. For highway driving, use a lower regeneration setting to allow for more coasting time. In city traffic, a higher regeneration setting results in more aggressive regeneration. This system seems to work well.
